Providing self-employment opportunities to the unemployed youth, either individuals or group of individuals, for setting up small production/business units by accessing bank loan and departmental subsidy through Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasansthan Prakalpa (SVSKP)

Providing interest subvention for the institutional loans accessed by the self-help groups through West Bengal Swanirbhar Sahayak Prakalpa (WBSSP) to reduce interest burden on the groups.

Capacity building of the unemployed youth for running small enterprises for self-employment and of the self-help group members for augmented livelihood activities

Coordinating activities relating to livelihood augmentation of the women SHG members and enhancing self-employment potential of the unemployed youth in 13 South Bengal districts by promoting convergence of activities of several development departments of the State Government through ‘Muktidhara’

Developing training-cum-marketing complexes as extension of the Karmathirtha project to facilitate training to self-help group members and Swarojgaris for skill development and product marketing

Providing small revolving fund support to all eligible SHGs of the state through ‘Jaago’, a special project for the SJHGS, both rural and urban

Policy formulation and co-ordination of all works relating to self-help groups and Self Employment Schemes. Co-ordination of institutional finance in connection with Self Help Groups and Self Employment Schemes.
